Change Starts with Breakfast by Coach Chad
When encouraging athletes to change their lifestyle, the question I inevitably get is, “But how do I even get started?!?!” Lucky for you, I’ve got a three step plan:
- Start with breakfast. This is seriously the easiest meal go caveman on. I mean who doesn’t love eggs, bacon and coffee? For the eggs, switch up styles (sunny side up, poached, scrambled, fried, baked, etc) to keep it interesting. Add some salsa and avocado to make it fun. BAKE YOUR BACON! That is some serious yumminess people. And buy good, fresh coffee. Drink it black or make it bulletproof. Either way you can’t lose.
- CrossFit your face off. Seriously though you should focus on a good training session at least 2-3 times per week. The other days, do something you enjoy like hiking, walking the dog, or easy bike rides. Spend ~8-10 minutes a day mobilizing. Do this while you watch TV (and don’t even act like you can’t make time for that). Drink plenty of water and take your fish oil/vitamin D.
- Go to bed earlier. What if I told you that you could lay in place and get fitter? Would you do it? Heck yeah son! Try for 8+ hours a night. If you have trouble getting to sleep, chances are good that you’re staring at a (laptop/TV) screen late into the night. Download f.lux on your computers to cut down on blue light exposure at night. Or better yet, read a book you nerd.
There you go. The top three ways that you can be fitter RIGHT NOW. So get started. You should have been doing the couch stretch the entire time you were reading this!
