1. Use Easy Meal Options – Keep it simple! A protein like meat or fish, some healthy fat, and as much non starchy veggies as you want. When you have simple dishes you are more likely eat less than if you try to have these delicious yet elaborate meals.
2. Make sure you Eat Enough – In most cases less is more. However, that is not the case with the Paleo Diet. Eating less can cost you many important nutrients that your body needs to function efficiently. The Paleo Diet will satisfy that never ending hunger you seem to get every time you start a new diet. It does this because the foods you will be eating are going to fill you up faster and you will be able to voluntarily stop eating.
3. Consume Enough Carbs For Your Fitness Level – You may want to start exercising more now that you are on a diet. That is great, but where most people go wrong is they think that eating less and exercising more will help them lose weight faster. FALSE! This can actually lead to increased fatigue and muscle breakdown.
4. Do It With A Friend – Trying to do a diet alone is nearly impossible, but if you do it with a friend you now have a support system set up. They can be there to help motivate you when you are feeling moments of weakness and considering bailing on the diet. They may also have ideas on how to get through a difficult moment in the diet or they could even be a resource for getting fresh new recipes to try. Friends don’t let friends diet alone!
5. Become Accountable In Your Whole Life, Not Just Diet and Exercise – Many things go into being healthy besides just diet and exercise. Ensure you are getting enough sleep on a daily basis, try to have lower levels of stress, and have a support system in place for the times you are going to
6. Remain Active Throughout the Day – I understand that this may be difficult for some people due to having an office job, long daily commute, etc. But that just means that you have to make a conscious effort to get some activity throughout the day. Instead of eating lunch in the office take your outside to a park or somewhere that you have to walk to get to.
