Pumpkin Spice Latte
In case you have not noticed yet, I LOVE pumpkin! I used to always (and admittedly still do) look forward to these sweet treats at Starbucks. However, a tall, nonfat, no whip version of these packs a whopping 216 calories and a disgusting 41 g of carbs, 38 g of which are sugar. These are definitely not a treat to my body so I searched the internet and sort of came up with this version that really is a treat.

Serves 2
Ingredients:
1/2 c espresso
2 Tbsp vanilla
1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
or combination of cloves/nutmeg/allspice
2 Tbsp pumpkin butter
or 2 Tbsp canned pumpkin with 2 Tbsp maple syrup/honey
2 c milk
1. Heat milk, pumpkin butter (or canned pumpkin with syrup/honey) until bubbling.
2. Stir vanilla and spices into pumpkin/milk mixture.
3. Pour into coffee mugs, add 1/4 c espresso to each mug and froth (everyone should have a handheld frother) = )
This would be delicious with Torani's Pumpkin Spice syrup (sugar-free of course) but I can only find it online at almost $20 a bottle. I just cannot justify that when making this saves me so much money at Starbucks!
