Any thoughts on which Innovate or other brand of shoe would be a good replacement for my old Frees? I would prefer to be able to use the same shoe for the runs and the box.
What Cherrie said!

Hey Susannah,
It's nice to be able to try stuff on before you commit, so I would find shoes that you can actually get locally. Everyone at the gym seems to love the various Inov-8's (F-Lite, seems to be the standard, with Bare-X and Bare-XF for if you want a zero-rise shoe).

Another zero-rise option is the Merrell Trail Glove, which I like. Brooks makes a really ultra-lightweight minimalist shoe, the Pure Connect. (I have the trail version, the Pure Grit).

The New Balance Minimus Trail isn't flat, but is still a good option.

Finally, Reebok finally released their CrossFit shoe, which may be another option.

And finally, I would be remiss in not point out that indoor soccer shoes are meant for running in, changing direction a lot, and are flat or pretty close to flat, with a pretty minimal midsole. I love Adidas Sambas, and the Nike Gato, Pumas, etc, all pretty much do the same thing. And they're great for deadliest...
